About the Journal
Samaja: Indonesian Journal of Sociology of Islam (IJSI) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to exploring the complex intersections between Islam and society, with a special focus on Indonesia as the world’s largest Muslim-majority democracy. It publishes original research and critical analyses that examine Islamic beliefs, practices, institutions, and discourses through sociological and interdisciplinary perspectives, while situating the Indonesian experience within broader global contexts.
